Storage Organizing Ideas

  • For records that must be kept for a certain length of time, records storage boxes can be purchased. These can be labeled both on the sides and the ends with the contents and the disposal date. They can be stacked to take up as little room as possible. They will hold either legal or letter size file folders, along with a variety of loose items that are not kept in folders.

  • Banana boxes are a less expensive option. They accommodate file folders quite nicely and do have lids, although the lids don't cover the entire area.

  • Look for storage space under the desk, behind the door, beside the filing cabinet - be creative.

  • Wall pockets are great for holding items that you need to take with you as well as for holding current projects in view yet contained in one place.

  • It may be worthwhile to store things off-site, to free up office space. Just be sure you aren't storing things you are not required by law to keep if you will never look at them again.
